I feel like I always come to the end of the work (er, school) week and just sit here exhausted while trying to form together coherent sentences to present my Friday Favorites. This week was filled with stress and nausea, so I really didn't have the best of times, though I am feeling much better now and a phone call with mama will always brighten my day.
Despite all of the craziness that was the first week of September, I did manage to find some quiet time in the evenings to sit back and enjoy a few videos on YouTube before passing out by midnight. First off, my roommate introduced me to Janelle from elleandish who does beautiful nail art tutorials on her YouTube channel and also features them on her blog. The designs she comes up with are soooo adorable, and I am head over heels for the Marc Jacobs Daisy nail art and Marimekko-inspired designs she created. The way her videos are edited are literally some of the best I've seen design-wise too, and if I had a YouTube channel I would definitely want to mimic her style! I've also been loving Adrienne from latenightnonsense. She's pretty new to YouTube, and I discovered her channel through her blog. She is so genuine and nice, and I loved watching her recent haul video -- I feel like we'd be great friends if I ever met her in real life!
In terms of beauty products, I used to never bother with putting products in my hair because I didn't think it would make much of a difference and I didn't really care much to style my hair anyway so I didn't want to invest in oils and gels. However, over the past few years I've been determined to grow my hair out super long and to assist in that I've tried incorporating several products which have really helped improve the appearance and health of my hair. The other day I blow dried my hair before class in the morning and noticed how incredibly soft and smooth it felt, and I think it's because I finally got myself a bottle of the TRESemmé Thermal Creations Heat Tamer Spray to spritz in along with my usual routine of Suave Professionals Moroccan Infusion Moroccan Argan Styling Oil and BioSilk Silk Therapy Serum (which I found at Sally Beauty for over 60% off!). I'm excited to see how well these products will work together over time to help get me the healthiest hair I can have! Makeup-wise I'm boring and never do anything new. I did rediscover my Revlon Colorstay 12 Hour Eye Shadow palette in 03 Neutral Khakis which I got as a hand-me-down from my mama because she decided she didn't like the colors it came with. The darkest brown shade looks awesome with my hazel eyes because of the plummy undertones and I love rimming my lash line with it to create an everyday subtle smoky look.
I'm excited to spend this weekend finally catching up with all of my friends and taking some time to relax. I also have to get some readings by Marx and Engels in there sometime, but I've got until Monday for that. TGIF!

I feel the same way about Adrienne. She just seems so nice! And I love the Tresseme spray as well, sadly I forgot my bottle at home when I went to college, so I'll just have to make do.

I love the look of the Revlon quad - the shades look so wearable. I've not had a very good experience in the past with Revlon Eyeshadows <3 xx
