MAC Syrup


Who knew this love affair would happen so fast? Since discovering the amazing quality of MAC Lustre lipsticks I've been on a lippie high, and my laptop breakdown situation turned into a trip to the Genius Bar with some retail therapy to cleanse the anxiety and justify a little treat. This time I had my sights set on Syrup, a cool mauve-y pink shade that is the ultimate everyday neutral. I love how easy this is to apply even without a mirror because it's smooth and not too intense, but still defines my lip so I don't look completely dead even on 3 hours of sleep. I was concerned at first that it would be very similar to Plumful, my previous (and first) MAC lipstick purchase, but upon comparing the two you can see they are totally different (it was hard to find swatch comparisons of the two online, though, so here are my two cents swatches). Ugh I'm in love! Looking at these photos makes me want to change out of these gym clothes and shower ASAP so I can wear it out again tonight. Hurrah for the power of a good lipstick!

    I've heard so many great things about Syrup! It really does look like the perfect, everyday wearable shade!

    I absolutely adore Syrup!! It's my favourite lipstick of all time. I agree it's similar to Plumful but for some reason I find Plumful a lot more drying on the lips.

    I actually think so too, not necessarily drying but less shiny than Syrup!

    I am about to treat myself to a new MAC lippy and have been asking for recommendations. A lot of people have said Syrup is a lovely shade. I did think it was similar to Plumful (which I've got) but I can see from you swatch that it's different. I sometimes think Plumful is too dark for me so I'll definitely check out Syrup next time I'm shopping xxx

    Yes! I sometimes feel like a lot of the MAC shades are super similar but upon swatching they're really quite unique. Since I'm getting into lighter makeup and spring weather Syrup has definitely seen more love than Plumful lately x
