After pulling a few too many late nights and binging on junk food to get me through this massive campaign project (how ironic that I'm posting at 7:30 am and I haven't slept yet... all nighters are so disorienting), the only things saving me from looking like a pizza-faced zombie are these two trusty concealers. I've already gone through several tubes of the Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Concealer in light, but upon repurchasing for the third (or fourth?) time, I decided to try the Brightener. It's got a salmony tone that works great at livening up my face and bringing some much needed TLC to these bad boy eyebags. The coverage is superb and it blends super easily, lasting all day and hiding the reality of my under-rested state. I like the brightener more than the regular light color because it really perks up my undereyes. I've also been enjoying the Maybelline Fit Me Concealer in Light to take care of some pesky spots. I've been breaking out around my chin/mouth but this really takes care of the redness. I also like to use this around my nose to deemphasize pores and it does a solid job. I've heard it's a dupe for the NARS Creamy Concealer but I've never tried the high-end one so I guess I'm not of much help, just thought it might be useful information for those who have tried the pricier NARS one! The Fit Me Concealer doesn't last all day as I would have hoped, but it's one of the creamiest and best coverage concealers I've tries. Considering my "day" usually lasts around 14-16 hours I'm quite content with its performance since it gets me through at least the average school day!

I feel you. I'm rarely up at 7am, yet, that's when all my posts are scheduled for. It gives the outside world an illusion that I have my life put together I think :P
ReplyDeleteBoth of these concealers are in my current rotation as well! Maybelline definitely knows how to do concealers! But like you said, they aren't that great on the longer days, I usually turn to my NARS offering those days. I'll be honest here, texture wise, I like the Maybelline one more. The NARS one is almost a bit too drying and I have to be careful with it at the under eye area. But the coverage is brilliant as is the longevity - so perfect for the longer days as I'm absolute crap at topping up midday. xxx

It took me so long to hunt down but definitely worth it!
ReplyDeleteHaha, pre-scheduling is such a great option! Unfortunately I've been up around 5/6 am lately not because I wake up early but because I don't sleep until after that ):
ReplyDeleteI totally agree, I didn't realize how many Maybelline concealers I've tried and loved!
I have both of these, and really like them! Apparently Maybelline does some pretty great concealers! The Fit Me concealer is similar to the NARS one, but I find the NARS has higher coverage and lasting power, which is why I prefer it! Fit Me is a great drugstore option though.

I have tried Maybelline one, and really liked it! But at the moment my favourite one is Loreal Perfect Match, if you haven't already, try it out, it's really good!

I've never used maybelline products because I've heard bad things about them, but these look really nice on you! Maybe they aren't so bad ;)

Ooh, I'll have to jot that down for when I run out!
ReplyDeleteYeah I didn't realize everything was Maybelline until I sat down to write this post! :P Longer lasting would be nice but I can't see myself shelling out so much for the NARS just yet... ):
ReplyDeleteI've found Maybelline to bit hit or miss, but I think the Eraser concealer is their best product!
