Essie Big Spender
If you threatened to take away all of my current 60+ nail polishes and then told me that I could only save three, one of them would definitely be Essie Big Spender (I had to say three because I'm a bit partial to my extensive collection of nude polishes). This gorgeous magenta creme was released a couple years back in 2008 as part of a stellar line-up alongside some similar juicy red and purple hues. Big Spender is described as "the most divine, lush red-violet nail color," which I would most definitely agree with. It looks stunning both on the nails as a bright punch of color or on the toes to compliment a pale complexion or a well-earned tan. It's a really great formula that's slightly sheer on the first coat but is bright and beaming with a second coat and some Seche Vite to top it off. Just looking at this color on my nails makes me so happy because it's a very cheery color that adds an accent to any outfit! Beware of wearing this for long periods of time, though, because it does have a tendency to stain (darker darker purples/reds stain the most from my experience). Regardless, this is the perfect color for the summertime because it's unique in that it's not a lilac or a hot pink, which are very popular colors this time of year, but instead is somewhat of a melodious mix of the two. I'm tempted to paint my toes this color now because it'd be cute to have on while I wear my black and gold sandals around town! Now if only I could stick my magenta pedicured toes in the sand... That'd be an Insta-worthy sight!
