Hear Me Roar

To make up for what I lack for in whimsy in my usually plain jane outfits, I love finding quirky and interesting accessories. My jewelry collection has some fun pieces including my Betsey Johnson asymmetrical scissor earrings that I get complimented on all the time and my lobster ring from Maine, but I still think I'm missing a key component to my jewelry collection. I was giving it some thought as to what kind of motifs I wanted to sport next and it immediately hit me: dinosaurs.

I don't know where this strange soft spot for these long-extinct creatures came from, but I've loved dinosaurs for a while, and even purchased some dinosaur print fabric to make fun things from! Also, I'm really tempted to order myself one of these UO Men's dinosaur t-shirts just because the print is absolute perfection, but I'm holding off for now... (somewhat hoping it'll go on sale soon). However, in the mean time, I've found something that I think I can pull off even better than a full-on dino print tee while adding  a bit of class to this whole "you're wearing an extinct animal on your body" business - jewelry! I'm quite taken by the golden stegosaurus because they are obviously the best (and my favorite) species, though the origami triceratops has also left a great gaping hole named desire in my heart. I'm also fascinated by the Tatty Devine dinosaur design because it's like ACTUALLY wearing a t-rex around your neck... How awesome is that!? While I'm really, really tempted to go on Etsy and treat myself to a little dino neck decor, I will have to refrain because who knew these majestic golden beings could be so pricey... Meep.
