Hurrah for surviving the first 2 days of school! It's so weird to see everyone back and there are SO. MANY. FRESHMEN. I feel so old now that I'm an upperclassman and I see all of these young children walking around looking lost (man, I sound like a grandma) while I perpetually RBF so no one will hand me a flyer to make me join their club. Sorry to the dude I totally ignored while he desperately tried to recruit me for a business frat this morning -- ain't gon' help me now.
It seems that in light of everybody moving back in and the city being saturated with people again (oh, how I miss how lonely it was in summer now!) I have a lot of human favorites this week! First off, I am developing a little girl crush on Patricia Bright. Patricia has both a blog, Moments of Style, and a YouTube channel where she talks about fashion and beauty, and I love how spunky and genuine she is. I feel like if I met her we'd totally hit it off because we have the same sort of energy and humor! I guess it's also perfect timing to post about her because she just put up a video about her YouTube story this week, and I really admire all she does.
I refused to watch the VMAs (though my roommate forced me to sit and writhe through that infamous performance by you-know-who), but I'm proud of my men Macklemore and Ryan Lewis for bringing in 3 moonmen this year! I've been listening to Macklemore since before
In terms of beauty and fashion, I got hooked on American Eagle Outfitters' 40% Off Everything (+ Free Shipping) sale and bought myself 2 pairs of the same flats (in different colors, though!!) as a little back to school treat. I love wearing ballet flats and used to have quite the selection but it has recently somehow dwindled down to just a pair of beat up tan mocs, which are seriously disgusting now, and a navy blue pair that's ripping at the back. Classy. I ordered online, though, so I hope they fit! Can't wait for my package to come in hehehe. Otherwise I haven't really discovered anything new these days, but I've rediscovered some old things in my beauty stash. I am loving simple nails lately and have been sporting Wet n Wild Private Viewing which is a soft nude pink color for the past week (that's a long time for me!). Also, I had heard so much great stuff about the Rimmel Stay Matte Powder and bought it quite some time ago but never really liked it. I don't know why, I just didn't think it did anything... that is until I stopped using it for a while and then came back to it -- now I'm hooked!! It mattifies my oily spots while not looking caked on and disgusting. I'm not sure why it didn't work before and it's doing me some good now, but I'm not complaining! It's been a dream to touch up with during these first few crazy days of the school year. I'm just glad it's a long weekend, though I do have to go to club officer retreat. TGIF!
American school/college/university (sorry not sure which is the correct term to refer to!) sounds so cool and very different to over here in the UK!
ReplyDeleteI love that you watched all 10 seasons of Friends over summer, love it! My replacement for the show has been How I Met Your Mother if you're after something new to watch (and don't already watch it!)

The part about the perpetual RBF....YES. I totally do the same thing while walking around my university. Made me laugh! Also, I'm glad I don't have a roommate because I have been avoiding any clips from the VMA's like they were the plague!

I can't believe you missed out on the VMAs! It was crazy, although maybe it's not such a bad thing that you missed out lol
