Inspired: Emi's Cocoon Coat

It's still August and the weather has still got some good potential but I'm already into planning my autumn wardrobe. I'm on the hunt for a good oversized coat, and Emi's cocoon coat in this photo caught my eye immediately. The one I've featured in this inspired set is from Uniqlo, which means I'll be paying close attention to their coming autumn/winter collections hoping they'll bring this back! What I love most about this getup is that I would pick out and wear all of these pieces separately and not just in an outfit styled like this. The collared shirt is such a basic item that's versatile and easy to wear with anything (I say as I have yet to find and fall in love with the perfect one), the cardigan is perfect for dressing up an otherwise casual outfit instead of wearing a sweatshirt or dressing down an outfit like a nice dress or a pair of heels, and the suede shorts would be so cute with a flowy white tank top or even knitted tights. You can't see Emi's shoes, but since it's a pretty preppy look I'd pair it with a pair of black brogues or oxfords and maybe some knee-high socks if it's closer to autumn time. I'm seriously looking forward to trying so many new looks this fall, I don't think I've been this excited to dress up for a season in a while. Hurrah for sweater weather!
