Naughty Little Drugstore Haul (Clean & Clear, Jordana, Wet n Wild)

Ayiayiayi, it's been far too long since I've put up an actual beauty-related post! I guess part of that can be attributed to the fact that I haven't had the opportunity to try anything new or use anything I haven't featured before, but today I decided to take a spontaneous swing by Walgreens and ended up coming home with some goodies.

First off, I got my hands on the Clean & Clear Morning Burst Hydrating Facial Cleanser. I've heard a lot of good things about this line from various YouTube beauty gurus and decided to try it for myself. I'm excited to see what the "bursting beads technology" is like and I hope it's as refreshing as it promises to be! If all goes well it'll sit on my countertop to replace my fast-depleting stock of Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser. I also stumbed across the new batch of Wet n Wild Color Icon eyeshadow trio releases and picked up "Silent Treatment," a perfect palette for a not-too-cold California autumn. The browbone color is a soft peachy pink shade that applies like a neutral shimmer, and the crease color is a gorgeous unique deep brown with gold reflect. My favorite color and the eyeshadow that convinced me to pick this palette up is the eyelid color - it's a beautiful mushroomy taupe color and like nothing else I own! It's a very soft slightly purple hued gray-brown that is going to be so perfect for my easy everyday makeup with some black liner and mascara. All three shadows are extremely creamy and super easy to apply. I'm not sure why I've never gotten any other Wet n Wild trios since they are amazing quality and only $2.99!

Now for the real good stuff... The reason I decided to hop into Walgreens in the first place was to see if the one near my house had finally started to stock Jordana products (I hadn't seen them over the summer so I've been waiting it out anticipating when they'd be in). Lo and behold I found a tiny little column of Jordana products next to the beauty register and ohhhh boy, I could not stop myself. First off, I've been having some issues with my NYX eyebrow pencil and have heard good things about Jordana's brow line. I really wanted to try the powder but they were out of everything except liners and lip glosses, so I opted for the FabuBrow Eyebrow Pencil in 03 Dark Brown. The pencil is definitely made of a harder formula than the NYX one and it applies in thin lines so I think it will be easier to control. I have really dark brows so I'm hoping the brown won't look weird, but I'll have to test it out tomorrow to see. Now, I know that I really don't need any more eyeliner since I don't usually wear any and I've already got several options for blacks and browns, but I've never owned a brown liquid liner. I think I've finally gotten the hang of applying liquid liner (hallelujah!) but don't always like how harsh black looks, which is why I'm super excited to try Jordana FabuLiner Liquid Eye Liner in 02 Brown. I really like how it's a long felt-tip applicator and it looks like it'll be a breeze to apply. The color is dark enough that it'll make my eyes pop but the brown should soften my look a bit more because I don't like looking like I've packed on intense eye makeup (except for mascara... A girl's gotta have a weakness for something, right?).

I've also been super into the idea of autumn and getting ready for sweater weather and fall colors. I've never really been an autumn kind of girl, but this year I'm just super excited to cozy up and get in the spirit of changing seasons, which is why I decided to try something new and get a purple eyeliner. The Jordana Easyliner for Eyes in Eggplant is a beautiful mahogany-plum color that's not too obviously purple but adds a different look than the browns and taupes I usually go for. I think it'll look gorgeous with the taupe eyeshadow from the Wet n Wild palette and will make my hazel eyes pop! Eeeps, I think this may be the product I'm most excited to try! The pencil is retractable (yay) and so thin, it'll help apply a really precise line. I plan on wearing it like my usual liner and rim the entire top lash line and about 1/3 of the bottom to accentuate my peepers. Along with a fall-themed eye, I've been meaning to try out some more lip crayons because the only one I own is one by Revlon in a bright magenta and as much as I love the product it's not something I can wear everyday (especially to class when most people roll out of bed and I don't wanna look like Ms. Beauty Pageant over here). I decided to pick up the Jordana Twist & Shine Moisturizing Lip Balm in 05 Honey Love. I opted for this one over Sweet Pink because it's a beautiful muted mauve-rose color that'll be perfect for the upcoming season. I don't want to be sporting a summery pink lip (which is basically the color of most of the lip products I own right now because I went on a lippie rampage this summer) when everyone else is transitioning into fall fashion! The product really applies like a balm and isn't too shiny. Honey Love amplifies my natural lip color and is probably the best "my lips but better" product that I own... I've only just used it to test it out and I'm pretty sure I've already fallen in love!!

Sorry for the super rambly post, I'm just really excited that I finally get to try Jordana stuff out and I'm finally, FINALLY able to post something on my blog again! I will hopefully be able to get some more posts up soon once the midterm/paper rush calms down and I get a chance to be a real human and invest time in the things that I love aside from school. But for now, what drugstore products are your favorites and what might you suggest I pick up during my next de-stressing, beauty-blogging, retail therapy trip to the drugstore? (:

  3. I used to use Clean and Clear stuff years ago and it never helped my skin. I've switch to the tea-tree oil products from the Body Shop, so I'd be interested to see if the Clean and Clear product helps you because I think they've changed since I last used them!
