2015

I meant to post a "Hello, 2015" type post last week when we actually kicked the new year off but I've just gotten my new planner from May Designs (btw, I love it!) and finally feel as though it's officially time for a reset. I never really make resolutions seeing as I never keep up with them and feel extremely pressured to perform and stress out unnecessary amounts, but I do have some goals to meet this year. 2014 was my year of exploration, and 2015 is going to be my year of change. I almost didn't want 2014 to end because it brought so much good. I started off the year jet setting off for my semester in Rome in mid-January, continuously fell in love with Italy through May, backpacked across Europe until July, came home to my last year of university, was recruited into the top ad agency club on campus, picked up a few part-time and freelance design jobs, and traveled eastward for a big family Christmas in the Carolinas.

While I wish I could start this year off with another few months of European exploration and soul searching, 2015 brings other sorts of exciting plans. In 4 months time I will be graduating from university. I will (hopefully) find a job in a big city and move once again, but into a grown-up apartment, not just an undergrad pad. I can pursue any career I want at this point, and as daunting as that sounds I'm excited to find innovative companies and creative agencies to apply to. I plan on saving up during the semester so I can travel back to Japan within the next year or so (which means cutting back on impulse buys and retail therapy), if not back to my beloved Rome. I've got some long-term goals like eventually starting my own Etsy print shop and working in London for a few years during my twenties to start chugging away at too. All in all it's the beginning of another exciting period of my life and I feel ready to take on the challenge (after one more week of slothing away on the couch for winter break, that is)!

  1. Ohhh this is such an exciting time for you! I'm hoping to move to London in the next couple of years too for a bit, it'd be a great change from Vegas lol. I've never been to Rome, so I have no idea how beautiful the city is, but I'll take your word for it. Btw the phrase #romesick is total gold.

  5. I keep meaning to make a trip to California, being that it's so close. It's like 3 hours away, and I've never been so I'm constantly saying I'll go one day!

  7. I will! I'm actually more interested in visiting San Francisco, and San Diego over LA. I feel like everyone's first stop is LA, but I want to see other cities! Have you ever visited Vegas?

  8. No, not yet! Not sure why I haven't explored the west coast more, but I'm sure a Vegas trip is somewhere in my future :P
