Alternatives: Topshop Mighty Boot

So much for soaking up the sun this weekend... Karl the Fog has made his way over into my territory and I haven't seen a glimpse of blue sky yet! It's got me in a funky cold-weather mood and I'm sat here contemplating my upcoming autumn wardrobe. I fell in love with the Topshop Mighty boot after Zoella featured it in one of her hauls as well as in several outfit photos (here and here), but I don't think I can justify $90 on a pair of shoes from Topshop, especially since A. I've never tried them on (and I usually need to try things on), and B. I'm not sure it's the greatest quality shoe for the price based on what I've seen in the Topshop sections now available at Nordstrom. *Sidenote, Topshop please open a store in NorCal so I can dig through a massive sale section instead of the two tiny markdown racks at the mall.

Now back to the boots! I'm convinced that I need a pair of black stacked-heel ankle booties in my life before autumn and I've started seriously looking for alternatives. What weirdo buys boots in the middle of July? This girl. Though they all differ slightly from the Mighty, I think this selection of finds is quite comparable in aesthetics and most are a bit more affordable than the Topshop ones. The other day I went to DSW to try on the Pink & Pepper Duster boots and they fit my foot like a... sock? Bahaha, I mean to say glove but those don't go on your feet! They were super lightweight and comfortable and the top opening was small enough that my ankle wasn't floating around in a sea of excess space (a little problem I've run into with boots in general). I decided against buying them for $49.99 in store because being the frugal little bargain hunter I am I thought I could find them online and cheaper. Lo and behold, a couple search-and-clicks later I found a coupon code online to get an extra 20% off at Shoes.com (the code is: Secret20) to bring the price down to $39... I might just snag these while I can!

Pink & Pepper Duster, $49.00 ($39.20 with code "Secret20")
New Look Calibre Zip Side Ankle Boots, $42.41 (Get 20% off your entire ASOS order by 8/5 with code "Seventeen20")

  9. This is actually a really handy helpful post! I definitely think us bloggers should try save money where we can. You can hardly tell the difference between them style-wise, the biggest difference is definitely in the price here ♥
