Pink and Pepper Duster Booties

Following up on my recent post regarding black ankle boots, I've finally got my hands on a pair and I love love looove them! These are the Pink and Pepper Black Duster Booties that I ordered off of Shoes.com with a 20% discount code I found online. I originally tried them on at DSW when I popped in on a whim and immediately knew I had to have them, but since discovering the wonders of online shopping and searchable coupon codes I convinced myself that I'd find a better deal online and waited until I got home to look them up on the internet. Nice move, Natalie! I scored $10 off and got them for only $40 as opposed to the original $50 price tag (and way cheaper than the Topshop Mighty boots would've ever been)!

I'm really glad I tried these on in the store because I seriously think my feet have shrunken a half size since high school (uh, what?!) and the size 8s were too big for me. The 7.5 fits just right, though, and a bit snug with socks but that shouldn't be a problem as they will probably stretch out a bit with some wear. They are made of a suede-like fabric and lined on the inside with cushiony material so it feels quite comfy and sturdy, especially with the stiff reinforcements in the toe/heel sections (these will definitely keep their shape). At first I was a bit put off by the stitching detailing because I thought it looked slightly too western for my taste, but after trying them on I think it helps define the shape of the shoe and I really like it. It's not too noticeable but definitely adds some interest to an otherwise very plain shoe. The heel is only 2 inches so I don't tower over people (yay) and it's a thick heel so they are rather comfy to walk in. The shoe is very lightweight contrary to how they look which is awesome because who wants to be wearing clunkers around all day? Not me! The number one selling point for me was the width of the ankle opening. I'm not saying I have the skinniest of legs, but I've always had trouble finding shoes that fit nicely around my calves and ankles because there's usually so much space it looks odd when I wear boots without thick tights or jeans. These leave the perfect amount of room to tuck skinnies in, but also look really nice just on their own without looking like huge pots from which my legs grow like little plant stems.

I'm really, really excited to wear these around and I have so many outfit ideas lined up in my head, I don't know what I will wear them with first! I guess that's one plus about living in a place that doesn't get outrageously hot in the summer - I can start styling these for work this week! And I'm sure I will be loving these all throughout the autumn and winter months.

  5. I have a pair of boots like this in taupe and I genuinely love them so much that I'm too scared to wear and ruin them outdoors. If I had this black pair I think I would love them so much I would sleep with them at night and tell people they are my husbands.

    Hope you're doing well :)
