Current Skincare

Thought I'd experiment a bit with my photos today, didn't I? I seriously love the girls on my design team so much, they got me a gorgeous bouquet of flowers to celebrate the end of our big project and I just had to feature them somehow! Alongside the flowers I've also been really into taking care of my skin. Not sure when or why this obsession with skincare came about but lately I look forward to taking my makeup off and pampering with toners and moisturizers all day. Like, literally sitting in class daydreaming about going home and slather it on. Weird? Sure, but my skin's loving it! If you're interested, take a peek at the products in my current routine.

The Body Shop Camomile Silky Cleansing Oil. This stuff will melt your face off (in the best way possible, kind of like standing front row in front of the speakers at a rap concert. I speak from experience). I wasn't sure how I felt about an oil cleanser seeing as I have combo skin but a pump and a half warmed up between the hands and rubbed into the skin breaks down all of the makeup including waterproof mascara and leaves the skin supple and soft.

Hadalabo Gokujyun Hyaluronic Acid Toner. I'm not sure many people have used or have access to Japanese skincare, but I picked this up at my local Japanese supermarket after reading about it in ViVi. It's a no-fuss formula and is a soothing base for moisturizer. Not sure if I would purchase this again, but it's done no harm.

Kiehl's Ultra Facial Cream. I just hauled this about a week or two ago, but have been absolutely loving it! It's got this interesting consistency where I think it's going to be super goopy but it's really, how do I say, slick without being oily? It's lightweight but really packs the moisture in. I wake up every morning with super smooth cheeks and there is no greasiness to be seen.

Lancome High Resolution Eye Refill-3X. This is a little hand-me-down sample from my mom, but I've really been enjoying using a thicker eye cream at night. My under-eye eczema seems to have calmed down since I started using this, and it just feels nice to smooth it in before bed.

No7 Beautiful Skin Rich Hydrating Eye Cream. If we're talking hydration, this is the one! I've talked about this product before (in my March favorites) so I won't go on for too long. If I'm feeling like going a little lighter on the eye I'll use this at night, but lately this has been my go-to morning eye cream before I apply concealer. It just helps everything smooth out and prevents my under-eye from drying out during the day. Love!

Kiehl's Rare Earth Pore Minimizing Lotion. When I first tried this under my makeup I got way greasier than usual... I thought the Amazonian white clay was supposed to absorb oil!? I've had better luck the subsequent tries, though, and it does make my pores smoother and makeup go on better around my nose area. I'm experimenting with putting it on at night so it has some time to adjust to my skin before applying my makeup in the morning and so far it seems to be working well. No definitive verdict on this one yet, so I may be back with updates.

  1. I have the cleansing balm version of the Body Shop Camomile oil, but I do really want to try the oil as well! I have the Hada Labo toner as well but don't really use it. Perhaps I will pick it back up now that we're heading into Winter over here!

  2. I'll be curious to hear how you get on with the Kiehl's Lotion over the coming weeks/months. The Body Shop Cleansing Oil has been on my list for a while now, it sounds lovely.

  5. I hope the results continue to improve my skin! Also, would definitely recommend the cleansing oil, everyone who I've referred it to comes back and tells me how amazing it is!

  6. Ooh I was debating between the balm and the oil but opted for the latter, I'm curious to see how they might be different though! Is it only the texture/formula? Yeah I started using the Hadalabo again recently to use it up but it's turned me on to a lot of other toner options I'm excited to try out!

  7. Ooh what a super interesting mix! I actually love a Japanese make-up remover called Bifesta (I think it's like the Bioderma one people talk about all the time except I haven't tried it) . Oh and I caved and jumped on board the La-Roche Posay Serozinc hype! My remover is finishing though so I think I'm going to either try out the Body Shop cleansing oil or balm - but still undecided!

  10. Yeah! I was super skeptical to try it at first but it's changed my makeup removal process drastically - no more waters, creams, etc. and no more cotton pads!

  12. Ooh interesting, I've never heard of Bifesta but I'll have to keep my eye out for it! I've also just come across La-Roche Posay but haven't had the courage to try anything yet - is it good??
