My Favorite Mascara: CoverGirl Lash Blast Volume

Let me just come out and say, I love eyelashes. I don't know what it is about them, but curling them brightens and wakens up my face, and long fluttering lashes are just so girly and appealing to me. I also think I've gotten a pretty good set on my eyes (thanks mom & dad!), but I am always up some some extra fluffing and primping.

When I first started wearing mascara I wasn't sure what was good and what was bad, trying different formulas out to see what "lengthening" does versus "volumizing," and the miracle-like hold of waterproof as opposed to regular. I'm glad I'm pretty set in the natural lash length department, but that also means that it's easier for me to get panda-eyed by the end of the day without the proper hold and "stay-on-ability," as my lashes can rub up on my skin more easily. I've come to learn that I like my mascara to give me volume and separation without the crunch in a waterproof formula.

Anyway, my friend recommended this mascara to me during a spontaneous stop at Target after telling her I like my Maybelline The Falsies. I thought that would be my holy grail product, but I've since been converted. The CoverGirl Lash Blast Volume mascara has a slightly tapered wand of thick rubber bristles which separate my lashes like crazy (in a good way!). The brush gets ample product on it, and it doesn't clump that easily. I like to go through with about two full coats and then some separating strokes with the tip of the brush and my lashes look long and thick and wondrous as the cherry on top of my makeup routine. I'm not sure why, but I really love to do my mascara last to pull my look together and always bring the attention to my luscious dark lashes!

It's also, unfortunately, been through the I-forgot-to-take-my-makeup-off-last-night overnight test thanks to a couple late nights of essay-cramming and midterm review, and I'm telling you it did not budge. There were no dark semicircles under my eyes at all in the morning! This stuff is seriously a miracle worker. The orange tube is a staple in my makeup bag wherever I go, and I'm even tempted to now name this my holy grail mascara.
