Maybelline Color Tattoo Leather: Creamy Beige

In attempts to really go for the minimal makeup look that accentuates without overpowering (à la essiebutton), when I saw swatches of the new(ish) Maybelline Color Tattoo Leather in Creamy Beige I just couldn't pass it up. Bad to the Bronze is probably my most-used, go-to eye product (especially for those five-minute mornings when I'm running out the door for class) so when I heard there was a more matte version sans shimmer/glitter I was sold. I found Creamy Beige for only $6.99 at CVS which is a steal for a product I already know will be a staple in my makeup drawer.

As per all of the other Color Tattoos, Creamy Beige is a super soft and blendable formula. I'm not convinced about the "leather" effect, but I do like that it's more on the matte side though upon initial inspection it looked like there was a very light wash of iridescence. Not one to venture out of the natural zone on the eyes, this taupe-nude color gives the most natural shadow to deepen the lid and create a shadow that makes my eyes pop just a little bit more than usual without looking like I put any makeup on. At first I was concerned that it might be too similar to Bad to the Bronze to justify shelling out some more money for this one, but they are definitely completely different as Creamy Beige lacks shimmer and is more warm/nude-toned than its cool-toned predecessor. With this product a little black liner and a coating of mascara make my eyes look the perfect amount of done-without-overdoing-it for school and work. I would definitely recommend you check this shade out if you're in the market for an easy to use everyday neutral that'll be perfect for sweeping over the entire lid and walking out the door, or as a standard base for other shadows!
