Revlon Colorstay Gel Envy / Up The Ante

Essie Button made me do it. What can I say, I'm a sucker for a good pop of color on the nails and after seeing how adorable her fingertips looked online I strapped on my big girl boots and braved the first rain of the year to make my way down to CVS and get my eager paws on this puppy (if that's not dedication, I don't know what is). I've had a lot of magentas, lavenders, maroons in my collection but never a straight purple polish so this one came in at just the right time. Up The Ante is a crisp, bright color that's not too obnoxious kind of goes with the blue skies and cool breeze vibe November has finally brought around. I oddly found it fitting for the season in this weird Halloween witch's brew sort of way, but maybe that's just me? This is my first time trying this Revlon formula and I must say I'm quite impressed. It went on smoothly and was opaque in one coat (though I went for the usual two). Dry time wasn't a problem and even though I snagged a tip just dabbing some extra on fixed it up in a jiffy. These photos are after a few days of wear and as you can see, no chips! I've gotten compliments on this color already and I'm excited to be back in the bright nail game for autumn.

  1. So gorgeous! Estee has been raving about this polish like no tomorrow haha! The gel-like formula sounds awesome too.

    1. Haha seriously, it's been mentioned in so many videos! I didn't find the formula particularly gel-like, but it did glide on really nicely (:
